Day 6

Today we visited the Galleria Borghese. The museum is in the former Villa Borghese built in the 17th century and surrounded by beautiful gardens. The sculptures here were breathtaking and the setting of the museum offers the perfect experience as it is not crowded or hurried due to their rolling admissions policy. We were able to truly learn about and appreciate the art here. Seeing these works of art in person, particularly Apollo and Daphne, highlighted the difference between seeing a photograph of the work and actually seeing it in person. Wow!
